Jesse Damazo is a filmmaker, writer, and educator with more than 15 years of experience in higher education, including admissions, counseling, student communications and teaching roles at selective institutions such as the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), University of Iowa and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

His films have screened as official selections at international festivals including Cannes, Slamdance, the Pan African Film Festival, the Portland Film Festival, the Maryland Film Festival, and the Reykjavík International Film Festival, among others. His work has also been presented in fine-art galleries and experimental film festivals.

Jesse and fellow BFE Arts Advisory Board member Sinah Ober have created a Portfolio Film Development Course to help students create and develop films that will help their film portfolios stand out. Students not only end up with a polished film they can be proud of, but they will also gain valuable skills and learn about themselves as an artist.
