MICHELLE SHIN

VIOLINIST

Violinist and educator Michelle Shin is based in Los Angeles, California. Raised on the East Coast, she started her education in Juilliard Pre-College, founded the Centre Street Quartet in Peabody Conservatory where she got her bachelor’s and master’s degree. She obtained her Artist Diploma in Violin at the Colburn Conservatory.

Michelle’s teachers include Hyeon Seok Shin, Masao Kawasaki, Janet Sung, Stefan Milenkovich, Victor Danchenko, and Martin Beaver, as well as innumerable mentors within the greatest active string quartets of today.

Michelle is currently performing and building her name as a teacher of many students who are seeing great success in their budding careers as young artists. Their achievements include first prizes in international competitions that bring performance opportunities in venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall.

She frequently plays with the Pasadena Symphony and is on faculty at Crossroads Elementary School in Santa Monica and Logos Academy in Pasadena.
